Clogau is a second-generation family business based in Wales. Since 1989, its growing range of jewellery has captured the hearts and imaginations of jewellery lovers far and wide. Clogau chose Ineco Energy to upgrade to LED lighting within their office HQ.
Background
When Clogau heard about the Carbon Trust's Green Business Fund – capital contributions – they considered refurbishing their old and inefficient office lighting.
Clogau approached Ineco Energy to learn more about the possibility of upgrading to LED Lighting, and the opportunity to benefit from a non-repayable capital contribution made the decision to upgrade to LED an easy one.
Brighter lighting
Clogau Gold is a family jewellery business based in Rhyl, Wales. For over 30 years, they have created fine jewellery from rare Welsh Gold. They were experiencing poor light levels and high maintenance costs for their existing fluorescent lights, so Ineco Energy proposed a brighter lighting upgrade for their offices.
Survey
During a detailed survey of their offices, we captured room dimensions and assessed each existing lighting fitting. This provided a clear picture of their existing environment and its energy consumption. Our design team undertook a bespoke lighting design for a variety of rooms with different uses. For example, the lighting required in a canteen is quite different from that in a corridor, or a manufacturing environment. As a result, appropriate lighting was provided for the area used, in accordance with CIBSE guidelines. We selected high quality, UK manufactured LED light fittings, which enabled us to reduce the number of fittings by over 20%.
Solution
Clogau invited several suppliers to quote for the works, but selected Ineco Energy as the accredited supplier of choice because our solution was designed for efficiency; to provide the optimum light levels, using the least number of fittings, to deliver the greatest return. As with all of our projects, we aim to complete all works outside of operational hours to minimise disruption to the business. In this case, all work was completed without disturbing the team during their working day.
Ineco Energy assisted Clogau with an application for funding. As a result, they obtained a non-repayable capital contribution towards the project. This not only reduced the upfront capital cost of the work, but also reduced the payback time, delivering an even better value project for the team at Clogau.
